At her own request, a private funeral took place for Betty on Monday 23 April 2018, she died very peacefully and with great dignity on Monday 16th April, the day after her 90th birthday. Beloved wife of the late James McEwan, Funeral Director and adored mother of Katherine, Lizbeth and the late Murray, Bill, Dave and Len. Much loved mother-in-law, gran, great gran and great great gran. Katherine and Lizbeth would like to thank all those staff at Moncreiffe Nursing Home who took special care of mum and for all the fun she enjoyed with them. Thanks also to Dr Dunbar for his enduring kindness and care, Jayne Johnson, Celebrant, for her moving tribute to mum and to Pipe Major Alistair Duthie. To all family, friends and neighbours for their kind expressions of sympathy, cards and flowers. Appreciation also to Scott and the staff at Parklands Hotel for the excellent champagne buffet. A special thank you to James and Kathleen of James Carcary, Funeral Directors, Perth, both for their friendship over many years and for their outstanding care of the funeral arrangements, just as mum wished.
